We are experiencing problems with our network server operating the Oregon Real-time GPS Network this morning.

Please do not use real-time correctors until further notice

Correction:  Some rover users had a problem this morning when as few as five GPS satellites were available in the constellation and the rovers appear to only have been tracking four GPS satellites.

This resulted in the ORGN sending correctors from inappropriate base stations to certain rovers: these inappropriate stations were too far from the rover to provide an accurate corrector.

We have now set Leica Spider software, the software used to operate the ORGN, to not deliver a MAX or iMAX real-time corrector if the station used for the corrector is over 40 Km from the rover user.

This setting will prevent rover users of the ORGN from receiving real-time correctors based on an inappropriate base station.

Users should use GPS mission planning software to note times of day with very few satellites, then monitor their coordinate quality on their rovers during those times and also note the number of GPS satellites they are actually tracking on their rover.

See "Correction" in Description Column.

Oregon Real-time GPS Network (ORGN) Urgent Alert:

We unfortunately experienced problems with the ORGN Network Server which computers real-time correctors available to rover users. If you used real-time correctors from the ORGN this morning, we strongly recommend that any GPS data collected be thoroughly analyzed for appropriate coordinate quality for your project accuracy budget.

ODOT is experiencing IT network problems in southern Oregon and at this time real-time correctors are not available from stations ASHL- Ashland & GTPS-Grants Pass.

Ordinarily, ODOT fixes IT network problems quickly, and we will send out another notice when ASHL and GTPS are operational again.  RINEX files from the two stations will not be affected, as they will be automatically downloaded from the GPS sensors after the IT network is fixed.

Stations ASHL-Ashland & GTPS-Grants Pass are operational again as of Thursday afternoon after the IT network was repaired in southern Oregon.
